Voice chat is end-to-end encrypted. The platform includes video, screen sharing, spatial audio for roleplay servers via GameLink, full markdown text channels, forums, and a built-in Discord import tool. Free accounts include 500 MB file uploads. GameVox is built by LightSpeed Gaming LLC, a small independent company based in Ohio, powering gaming voice comms for over two decades. The company is entirely self-funded with no venture capital, no ads, and no data sales. Revenue comes from optional server upgrade tiers. Self-hosting is available for communities that want full control of their data.

About LightSpeed Gaming
LightSpeed Gaming LLC has operated gaming voice infrastructure since 2004, hosting Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, and Mumble servers across 29 global locations at peak operations. The company acquired Ventrilo in 2023. GameVox is a ground-up rebuild launched in 2026, combining that experience into a modern voice-first platform for gaming communities. GameVox is entirely self-funded with no investors.

Founder & DeveloperBen has spent well over a decade building voice communication infrastructure for gaming communities. He founded LightSpeed Gaming in 2004 and has since operated one of the largest authorized Ventrilo hosting networks, acquired the Ventrilo software itself, and built GameVox from the ground up as an independent, privacy-respecting alternative to the dominant platforms.
